Ordered a ATI X850XT PE

Mr. Lennon

My original plan was to go SLI, but with the insane prices on the 6800 ultra, I just gave up. The cheapest I could find it for was $549 (through my friend). After talking with one of my friends at the business department in Compusa, I was able to order the X850XT PE for $484 (including tax)!! The order is confirmed and I should be getting it some time next week. If any of you guys work at compusa and have friends in the business department, ask if they can order for you.

decent deal, i still would never pay more than $300 for a videocard...though if i did get a card newegg is trying to sell for 700 bucks for less than 500 I would package it back up and sell it on ebay for 800 bucks, then take the cash and buy a 6800 NU or 6600 gt and pocket the 500-600 in profit. 🙂

You obviously aren't in the market for a X800 XT PE then...

Awesome, great deal. Post benches when you get the card 😀

Most deffinitely will. Now all I need to complete this setup is an fx-53 939 pin

I tried to buy 2 from my friend so that I could sell one on ebay, but the vendor he had to go through only allowed one to be sold at that price. 🙁

They were also later released in 939 version. The A64 4000 is taking its place now. Only reason why I want the fx-53 over the a64 4000 is because the multiplier is unlocked.

Man I cant wait for it to come. I should of opted for overnight shipping but penny ground shipping will do.

Im really not in any hurry. My Asus SLI board wont be in till the week after next. Oh well.. I guess Ill just look at it for a week. :/

well, i saw your posting over at rage3d..and i also preorderd a X850XT PE for about the same price earlier.

The "irony" here is that we already think $460/$470 is a good price for this card, which is true if you compare it to how much they go for on ebay or on the usual robbery sites like atacam, newegg, etc.

Because, let's admit it..even $460 (the "good deal") is a *hell* lot of money for a video card 🙂 I remember times (three years ago ?)....you could get the top notch high end cards for $300.

The problem is only....i really think that a graphics card is the most important part for a system, therefore i am a gfx-card "whore". I know many people do have other priorities - and many people are happy with a 9600GT etc. Eg.l other people get RAID systems with 5 drives where *i* never saw a need for it 🙂

But, i build a new new PC..pciex...MSI neo4, A64 3500 and all that stuff and think that there is really no point to get high-end parts and try to overclocik the **** out of the system if there is no gfx-card matching the whole system.
I dont need a high-end PC w/ an A64 3500 or FX55 for word/surfing the net or other things i can do with a FAR slower configuration.

Anyway..i am glad we see this card SLOWLY appearing on some places for UNDER MSRP...and i KNOW already of some people who got it for under MSRP...eg. the one guy said he got one for $520,...and now Zeppelin getting his for $480 incl. tax.

The more people get this card for around this prices the more hard it will be for the known price gougers to keep their ridiculous prices up.

What is your system now? You kind of need the high end cpu to get the full potential of this card, otherwise you will bottleneck it.

Yeah its pretty rediculous seeing this card on Newegg for 800 bucks, when actual cost on this card is $433.
