Order Time Warner Cable Digital Phone, get Speed Bump?

Dari

Lifer
I just got the Digital Phone from Time Warner Cable. It's not a pure VOIP telephone since the voice calls don't touch the internet (they go from Time Warner's network to Sprint/MCI's). Anyway, the phone modem also double as my internet gateway. Before, I use to get 3 Mbit/s. Now it's 5 Mbit/s. Can anyone else comfirm this?

too expensive. i have time warner for cable and internet, but i went with another company for phone service .. $15/mo for unlimited calling.

It's $39.99 a month, I think unlimited for all 50 states plus Canada and Puerto Rico. But did you get a speed bump?

doesnt voip need a certain upstream?

maybe that's why they bumped you up.

what did your upstream change to?

You're absolutely right. But the upstream is still 384 Kbit/s while the downstream went to 5120 kbit/s.
