YES! I almost broke down and did the "buy it today go back tomorrow for the money off" deal. So glad I was patient. Well worth $5 to avoid 2 trips to CompUSA hell!

Thanks! I just ordered one too. I'm just wondering if the inventory of these burners will be given preference to online orders vs. selling them at actual stores.

[edit]Sorry, saw the other thread. =) [/edit]

Oh yeah, I looked at the Iomega rebate, it says the purchases must be made between january 1st and march 31st, maybe CompUSA has its own rebate form? Don't know how that would work...

Either way, they have to ship our drives (online purchases) when they get more, while people can't buy them if they don't have them in stock. Well, assuming they are getting more and not getting rid of inventories.

For qty 2 - 5, ground shipping is $2.67 each. $ 5 minimum. I got charged $5 S&h for order only one drive. May be I should have ordered two to save a couple dollars on S&H. S&H for 2 drives are $5.34, and add $2.67/each there after until 5. I haven't have the patience to enter qty 6 to see how much teh S&H came to.

For the sales tax, they charge it based on the ship-to.

However, on the e-mail confirmation, they have a disclaimer saying that the roder is processing, that the e-mail confirmation "does not act as acceptance of your offer to buy".

Well, still better than we go out in the snow storm with record snaow fall (16" to 30" in half a day).

If we get it, that's good, lost $5 S&H but save time wait in line for price match or wait outside the store 10am in the morning. If not, so be it. Hopefully 4-6 months later the price on 12x10x32x CDRW will drop to the same price level as $100 after discount and rebate.

Ohh....I just love burning CDs on my Yamaha SCSI drive while doing ANYTHING on my computer without slowing it down..making coasters, etc....but at $99 for a modern ZIP (IDE) it's very very tempting....

Oh yeah....there's probably about 60 eGay auctions going on now for these drives.....kinda lame

Just wondering, when did these drives first become available at compusa's online store for $99? I'm trying to gauge when/if I'll actually receive my drive.

How do you go about getting the $30 back when you order it online? The form says you need to provide a receipt and whatnot.
