Hey all,

I am putting my system together as I type this and I am now at the point where I am ready to power on the system for the first time and start installing drivers, O/S (Win XP Pro) and software...

My question is I don't know if I am supposed to install 1st, the BIOS update, the chipset drivers, or the Win XP...

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

I just did this last week. I don't know if my way is right but this is what I did. BIOS, Win2k, Chipset and then the rest.

Yes. The way Intel updates the BIOS is weird. They have you boot from a floppy but then it copies the update somewhere and they asks you to reboot again which is when they really do the BIOS update for about a minute or two.

You should try using Intel's windows flasher. I've updated the bios on numerous Intel boards this way. Never had a problem...
