Where do people buy DVDs online for good prices? I remember that I found a site once which compared online vendor's prices but don't have the linky-dinky anymore.

Lots of places have good deals. You can always check the Hot Deals forum. Another good place to look is dvdtalk.com -- especially the forums. Also, you can send a PM to RossMAN, he always seems to have some DVD deals up his sleeve 😀
 
There's TONS of online sites! I don't know if CDNow sells DVD's, but I'm sure that Amazon & Half.com do! Half.com has some real great deals too! You can also find great deals at ebay!

Look around & you'll find something good!
 
Order wherever you have the best coupons. If you don't have coupons I would suggest DVDempire.com they have the best service and pretty good prices.
 
konichiwa nailed it as usual, he's also a DVD fanatic (although he probably watches his where as I just buy 'em and they remain on the shelf in shrink wrap but that's ok since I justify my addiction as a "hobby&quot😉.

Three current deals I can think of are:
Huge DVD sale at 800.com prices starting at $4.94
Columbia House DVDs average around $10 each including shipping/obligatory DVDs (search for Columbia)
Half.com they offer several coupon codes for new and returning customers. Make sure to look for titles which specify brand new or like new, they'll cost more but it's worth it. Also remember to check the sellers ratings (half.com is owned by eBay I believe).

I'd go with RossMAN's suggestion with Columbia House. It's the cheapest way to build up a DVD collection. The DVD Talk bargain forum has everything you need to know, and you usually get your DVD's within a week or two of ordering them. DeepDiscountDVD is good and Amazon is OK for preorders.
 
Columbia House is awesome if you read the very informative DVDTalk threads, work your cards right and you can do it over and over and over and over again.

DeepDiscountDVD overall has the best DVD prices since their shipping is free, they usually beat their competitors by anywhere from $1-$3.

If you check the AnandTech Hot Deals forum on a regular basis there are several companies who give away FREE Amazon.com GC's for taking a survey or signing up for a newsletter. These work perfectly with Amazon's pre-orders (some of which have free shipping).

It does take a lot of work to "save" money on DVDs but when you realize your average cost is near $10-12 and everyone else is paying RETAIL prices of $24 you'll know your hard work wasn't done in vain.

Of course my average per DVD cost is slowly creeping up I think at last check it was a little over $7 each including shipping.
 
If you want unbeatable customer service and good (but not always the absolute best) prices, check out DVDEmpire. They really are a class act IMO, from the business I have done w/ them and others I know.

btw, i usually use them for hard to find titles. i buy all new releases at local B&M's cause it's the cheapest way to go.

I've been doing that also, chances are Best Buy B&M will have a new DVD title for the same price or less without the hassle or wait of shipping.
