overall looks like its going to be a awesome build.

if you need recommendations for a monitor and you are looking into a lcd, i would suggest the samsung 710T. You can grab it off dell.com for prices under 500 if you get the right combo of coupons and sales. 710T is what the 172x should have been, more color reproduction and more flexible tilt/swivel options. It doesn't look as good as the 172x but it will save you a few dollars.

thx for the ok on the build.

I dont know about LCDs..the ones i have seen just seem to be a bit blury on games and such. I do understand that they take less space and are suppose to be better on the eyes right?

Scratch the SB Aud2 Mine gives me nothing but trouble, and after about an hour of gaming i get screeching noise from my soundcard. Stay far away :D

There's lots of good alternatives to a SB Aud 2, my card has been more trouble than its worth.

Looks good, but why shouldnt it? Just one thing, ditch that logitech 510 or whatever, and get the wireless Duo. other than that, id say you're all set.

thx for the advice, I would like a wire tho..it just feels better to me somehow. I have always used a Microsoft explorer and they have served me well..but i hear that these m510's blow the explorer out of the water.

Looks like a nice build to me. I've heard you can even squeeze the 3500+'s to 3800+ speed on air, that'll be my goal when I get my setup :)

i was thinking of buying that same corsair ram...that wouldn't be good enough to overclock with?

XMS will overclock quite a bit so unless you're going for an insane OC like the guy recommending PC4000 was suggesting, PC3200 would be fine.

Is it even worth going with the XMS if i am not going to over clock it.

Thx for all the help, anything else is welcome!

oh man don't keep that generic power supply-you NEED a antec true watt 430 at least. Everyone will tell you to get a quality PS and you won't do it and then there will be problems-first hand experience!

imma get a 480wat true antec. with the blue fan. It seems a bit expensive for a PS>....86$ but i want enough power so if i ever do want to upgrade i won thave to upgrade the PS ever.

Looks good.

For now...skip the Audigy and see what the onboard does for ya. You can always get one later.

The raptur is only 74gb...thats almost half of the 160. Stay with the 160!

good point on the onboard, but do you think it will doe the 5.1 klipsh justice with doom3 and music?

at the moment i have a 40 gig and that does oke with me...i can always format this one and then just add it to the raptor...thats close to 120gb which i dont think i will fill

that case (at least its brother) is a real pain in the neck to work with, namely if you have a large cpu heatsink. It helps if you have a friend to hold it together while you slide the motherboard in. But yeah, it does look beautiful :)
