So I'm ready to buy a bunch of orbs for the processors I have at work.... the servers are in a AC room, so room temp is 65°, system not overclock. I want to get the chrome orb instead of the golden one for the P3 800+. Is the chrome orb okay for use on a P3 even though it's for a Duron/Thunderbird.
 
I think that you will need to 'massage' the clip. The TBIRD/DURON core sits higher than Pee3. Also AMD specs much higher hsf pressure than Intel.
