"Reaching 5,000 Users, 10,000 Hosts Milestone

The 5K users, 10K hosts mark should be reached within days, maybe just hours from now. Having so many users (and hosts) believing into this project is a great privilege and an important motivator, and we thank YOU all.
On a more technical note, we're don't plan to be releasing new WUs for a few more weeks. We will update you by late September at the latest. The process of switching from simulated data to real world data is taking longer than expected, mainly for a lack of publicly available data. The situation is actually more difficult than what we anticipated when we started to work at this project. Essentially, all sky coverage data is collected by one international organism, the Minor Planet Center (MPC). This data contains information of the sky regions covered by each telescope each night. The MPC is collecting the data, but is failing to redistribute it to the international community for research purposes. All that MPC does with the data is to create interactive plots of the recent sky coverage activity. We have personally interacted with the MPC to try to put a remedy to this problem, but no solution has been so far anticipated. As frustrating as this is, we'll try once more to find a solution with MPC, and then we will be forced to put forward a formal protest, and being backed by more than 5,000 people will help."
