Majority of GOP voters would reject checks and balances to give strongman Trump more power

So, all that noise about the 'constitution,' and the 'party of law and order' - just noise. Nothing they say is in good faith. The head of the party of the law and order is a convicted felon.

Every one of these people should take down their “don’t tread on me” and “we the people” bumper stickers and flags.
Guess it makes sense for the Trump Bible to include the Constitution, since they don't actually care what either of them says.

So, is this the potential ruling that will determine Trump’s ultimate fate?

Of course, it was a giant fig leaf and terrible decision, which Trump proceeded to prove at first opportunity, pissing all over their intentions. I’m going out on a limb and say maybe at least Roberts and Barrett will try to make that distinction clear in one decision or another, but they deliberately let the fucking Fox into the henhouse.

There’s one subtle wrinkle that not enough people talk about, and which is probably the most important aspect of the decision. Not only did the justices not clarify the distinction between what is and is not an official Presidential duty, they explicitly said they WOULDN'T explain the difference, and would reserve for themselves the authority to decide, on a literal case by case basis, which actions constitute legitimate duties and which do not.

The justices intended this to be a shot across the Presidential bow: “We still have power over you - to wit, we retain the right to determine whether or not you’re operating according to the "rulebook.” In their minds, they were defending their judicial turf.

However, Trump, being Trump, took it in a completely different way: - “I’m going to do whatever the fuck I want, and I DARE YOU to tell me it’s illegitimate.”

And now we’re all on pins and needles waiting to see whether or not the justices are vertebrates.

I'm going with - probably not!
Wasn't the decision concerning culpability of a POTUS for breaking laws? The Supremes can still say a president can't do this or that because it isn't presidential power invested by the constitution and interpretations thereof. Culpability is another matter. They can rule that plaintiffs (e.g. attorneys general or members of the federal government) do not have to comply with some executive orders. They didn't intentionally or in essence declare that the POTUS is from here on out the dictator of the USA. That would make them feel powerless, and you can bet they wouldn't like that.

Smh, and democracy dies with applause from the strict constitutionalists

TBQH, this is exactly what the conservatives here are supportive of.

Who is going to pick the fruit, build homes and mow lawns? Not me and probably not you either.

The current workforce got fat and sassy on my precious tax dollars for far too long.

In the end, right sizing gubment is a win win scenario for all Americans. :)
I'm sorry, who's tax dollars did the workforce get fat and sassy on? Pretty sure the workforce pays taxes right along with you (if you even fucking work). Since there is only You vs the rest of the workforce, I am willing to be that it's you who got fat and sassy off of their tax dollars, and their hard work, not the other way around. Thanks for showing us, in your own words, just how fucking stupid you are.

They’ll get their wish soon

Of all the bad anti democratic shit over the past month, this is probably the worst. Full blown authoritarian fascism.

I think the Boyz are coming out of the closets. Maybe regular Americans need a little of their voting medicine.

I suspect Ive been working longer than you have breathed air, which is unfortunate because I should be retired by now. Nevertheless we should reduce the size of government.

Did you see that latest executive order - no not the one on ivf but the one that attempts to remove authority from all independent agencies:

If allowed to stand the executive order basically sez only the president and his hand picked attorney general can interpret laws.

What does that have to do with anything you, or I said? Once again you put your stupidity front and center by throwing out something unrelated to the discussion, and move into something else.

For the record I have been working, collecting a paycheck, and paying taxes since I was 8 years old, with social security records to prove it. I am now 55 and have never went a day without a job, except for 3 months that entire time. A decade of that was working 3 jobs, as well as a full time job at an electronics assembly manufacture, while in high school, and still maintained a 3.5 GPA before joining the military. You may be older than me, but I doubt you have been working longer, worked as hard, or have more working hours than I have.

Now stop being the typical ignorant fuck you always are. It's a choice you know.

Classic victim blaming, right inline with DARVO behaviors. Looks like all those “I’d rather be a Russian than a democrat “ people are getting their wish

Let’s just keep in mind, anybody being honest with themselves knew who trump was beholden to. Just one link, while we still have them.

If you were working at 8 you were illegally employed you ignorant fuck. It's a shame a man your age has no qualms using curse words to express yourself. I don't normally do that because I find it distasteful, but it seems appropriate to respond in kind here.

Yes, the GOP is disgusting in its consistent support for terrible people and hurtful policies. Where have you been the last 5 decades?
They were not always like this. Not till Maga took over. Also, when Romania pressures us to let someone flee will we listen or tell them to pound sand?

Yea, they were, 2008 just encouraged them to be open about their racism, bigotry, xenophobia, anti-human rights, and fascism. Along came Trump and y’all just fall in line. The GOP abandonment of democracy became apparent that year.
