AI might be overhyped, but it's the real deal and not a nothingburger.

A lot of these companies existed even though when you could have cooked them up in a week or two even before AI. OK, so you've replaced Monday/Atlassian with something (which was easy to do anyway IMO, e.g. Linear). Now you need to replace Salesforce? Office (or gsuite)? Figma? Slack/Teams? Zoom? The problem that these companies solve is liability, compliance, security, maintenance etc. Sure, maybe you can replace one of these - but when you've got 10 or 20 or 50 of them, are you going to move all of those in-house? Who's going to manage that? Who'll manage the infrastructure? who'll handle CVEs or security issues?

There's also the case that these software companies can leverage AI themselves to make their product better.

Yes, I think that many companies will take a hit, but I think that there's a race to the bottom that people are ignoring, and if just creating a cheaper alternative to take major business from these companies was enough, they had a problem even before AI.

I agree with all of that. But that IS what the market is reacting to(ai, claude). For the apt investor that also means the the pendular swings back... The question is that if that "swing back" is going to drown out in a bigger correction.

he's flooding the zone with so much shit right now it's honestly impressive

Trump bizarrely claims he's sending 'hospital boat' to Greenland to take care of 'many people who are sick'

The merger can't happen because the Democrats have an agenda to go after Republicans (according to Laura anywho)
But when Trump says publicly he's gonna go after his enemies, well that's just another day. I also love how it seems every time anyone in his cabinet tweets about Barack, they always include his middle name.

He's ended 8 wars, and now he's sending a hospital boat to Greenland to help all the sick people. He's such an inspiring man. How many wars did Barack Hussian Obama end? And how many hospital boats did he send to help countries in need?

The market is not wobbling cause AI is a dud.

AI stocks have been over hyped sure. So correction.

The real wobble is the performance sector that AI is going to gobble up.

Software companies are taking a hit cause why pay some license for something that anyone can cook up at home with Claude Code.
This alone might be enough to pull the trigger on a larger correction, even recession.

But AI is there to stay, so is the datacenters and the infrastructure that supports them.

Invest accordingly.
Also if US is moving towards a state like China, then the companies and governments will need to find alternatives to US companies, if they don't want their data survailled or stolen.

The market is acting in a weird way because you'd expect stuff like AWS, Azure or GCP to boom in a theoretical explosion of apps which should lead to 1) increased Cloud spending (unless we're expecting vibe data centers), and 2) VMs for agents with inference hardware and a lot of ram 3) Model API usage that would go through them with AI services.

This is no lie. Gains on my ex-US holdings are beating out domestic equities handily.

Looking at my portfolio, it looks about the same over the last few months. However, for my stock purchases, I'll stick with my 65:35 split for US:exUS (provided I'm meeting the overall target percentages I'm looking to achieve); it just means getting more US holdings at a discount as the values drift from that 65:35 ratio.

Denmark and its territory Greenland on Sunday, February 22, rejected Donald Trump's offer to send a naval hospital ship to the Arctic island coveted by the US leader.

Love it that Greenland's prime minister posted on facebook "That will be 'no thanks' from us."
