Orange mucus?

I was at the gym today..and all of a sudden I felt some sort of liquid dripping from my nose..and it felt more like a bloody nose than a runny nose as it came down pretty quickly. So I put my hand up to my nose really quickly, and it came out orange. It started to come out some more so I pinched my nose and went running to the bathroom, where it stopped. I then washed my hands, went back, and it was all over with..

So what can cause mucus to be orange?
 
if you have a bloody nose, holding it and tilting your head back is the worst thing you can do, you should just tilt your head forward and let it run

Sit straight up and pinch the bridge of your nose, and then pinch your nose holes closed. This will slow down the speed at which your nose bleeds and you can't just let it run the blood can't clott if its moving... at least thats what I've been told.
 
Sometimes straining can cause a nosebleed. Like everyone previously said, is was probably a minor blled mixed with other fluids, snot and stuff.... Red and Yellow make orange....
 
they never mix like that. ie, red and yellow make orange. if they did, it means you have some serious problems.

anyway, you probably had some mucous that became orange as it collected. what have you been eating?
 
I'm not a doctor, but I play one on television.
It sounds as if you had a mixture of semen and blood in your nasal cavity. Can you recall any sort of activities in the past 24 hours that may have caused this?
