when the easy secure button is pushed it blinks white, while it blinks you also need to push the button on your wireless card inorder to communicate and have it secure. but the problems is that there isn't any button on my wireless card. how do i secure it then and what purpose does this sercuity serve?

mine's oranges. i want it to be white.

um, is this a distant cousin to the staples "easy" button?

Give us more info, such as model of router/card. You probably need to go into the Web interface to setup security, and then match your wireless client to it.

Mine is orange too, but I've set up WPA-PSK with AES so I just ignore the thing.
If you have security set up manually in the router and your computer that's all you really need. I know, it's annoying, but I don't think it's worth messing with beyond that.
There is one 3rd party firmware that allows you to enter commands and turn it white, amber, or off, but I can't remember which one it is.

it's the linksys WRT54GS and i dont know what model the wireless card is on the laptop. the installation guide also saids if u dont have an external button, you can enter it internally in the network wireless card propertie.

this button adds another layer of sercuity to it.

This button adds No security; it is Not more security, it is easy to set security for people who prefer to stay ignorant.

If you have a Button on the Router, and a Linksys Wireless card with a Button, you press both and the security would automatically be set.

A real Hocus Pocus.😉

:sun:

P.S. Buffalo has the same thing for more than a year, they call it AOSS, and it is a Beige button.
