Orange Box Portal Resolution Problem

Ok so I have 2 comps pretty much the same, 1 has AGP video card 1 has PCI-E but they are the same cards.
Both comps are on 20" LCD dells.

OK so both comps are running the same resolution but when Im in portal on 1 comp I can run the highest res which is 1400x1050 (I think thats the highest) and on the other comp I cant select anything higher then 1280x1024. The options arent even there to select anything higher.

They are the same ATI cards, one is just agp. Both comps bench really close to each other so I cant figure out whats going on.

Anyone?

Thanks in Advance

HL:2, HL:2 Ep1 and Ep2, Portal, TF2, CS:S, Team Deathmatch...a ton of games in one box.

If you dont say orange box sometimes people dont know what your talking about, google "portal" then google "orange box portal" and see which one is more relavant.

Ok that did it but I wonder why ne can run higher in 4:3 then the other?

Odd huh

I haven't got a clue what you just said.

Taking it you didnt read my first thread,

Ok if I leave the ratio to 4:3 on BOTH machines running the same video card and same LCD's one computer will let me select a higher resolution then the other..... odd huh

That would be a result of the monitor being recognized. If a monitor is showing improper resolutions then it hasn't been recognized properly.
