If you only want / need Episode 2, the Half-Life 2 Episode Pack (includes Ep1 and Ep2) is cheaper. That said, if you haven't played Team Fortress 2, most gaming fun I've ever had. I have over 250 hours logged in that timesink.

I bought the Orange Box for HL2, but surprisingly, Portal turned out to be a great (although short) game. I hope they come out with a sequel.
