Oracle Questions?

Has anybody here downloaded the trial software for Oracle9i Database? Does it actually expire and become non-functional after 30 days? Or is it like other software where you can change clock settings or it just doesn't truely turn off?

Is anybody using this in Windows? Should I even bother if I am going to run this on a windows network?

Oracle software is free for development use. You only need a paid license (big $$$) for production deployment.

For a long time, Oracle 8i was the best selling RDBMS for Winblows NT/2000. I'm not sure if MS SQL Server has surpassed that yet. Why are you hesitant to use Oracle?

Why are you hesitant to use Oracle?

Because I don't know anything about it really...

So how do I get a free copy for developement purposes?
And by develpement purposes what do they mean?
Can I create a DB for testing and then create apps for it?
