I finally bought a dvd burner! went with the Optorite dvd burner from Livewarehouse. Now I know a lot of people on this board have bought this burner. Can people please tell me what brand media for DVD+/-R(W) they use?

I know I can go to sites like dvdrhelp and there are two big Optorite threads already (didn't find much on those as far as media goes) and Optorite has a 'recommended' media list on their website. I'd just like to hear from actual people what media they have been using for this burner (Brand, does it burn at 2x, 4x? etc). It would help save me the hassle of trying all types of media out and would be must appreciated.

I know for the HD-burn, the Fujy (TY) cd-rs have been working great for me and now I want to start backing up my dvd collection.

Thanks a lot!

I think it even changes from player to player dude. I've seen some threads on CD Freaks and DVDRHelp where owners of the same burner argue until they're blue in the face about media.

I just usually stick to the good stuff - TDK, Memorex, Verbatim etc.

Interestingly I had always heard good things about Fuji until I got some and started "backing up" my DVD movies - came up with numerous errors. Turns out that my particular batch was made in Taiwan and is substandard. Get a shareware program called DVDInfo - it will read whatever disk is in the drive and tell you all sorts of things about it including the batch number. Go on DVDRHelp and search by that batch number - you can find out a lot about it.

There is a new review posted on this drive @ ExtremeMHz

It tested various DVD-R and DVD+R disks and indicates which ones burned at 4X without issues.

Review can be found here

I was wondering how the Memorex dvd+R discs were cause I saw a really good deal for them online.
I guess I'll have to keep looking for better discs.
