optoma dv10 and htpc question

I have a optoma dv10 projector

resolution is
480p (854 x 480) Native,
SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) Compressed

my pos htpc http://www.anandtech.com/mysystemrig.aspx?rigid=35075
is there anypoint in upgrading my htpc to a c2d system or a new video card? cpu usage is 40-60% using wmp
or will it be a waste to go c2d because of the low native res?

I doubt it would help much. I don't have a HTPC hooked up to my 480p projector, but I don't see a noticeable difference when changing my satellite receiver from 480p/720p/1080i. It's all going to downscale to 480p anyway...
