Hello.
i have Optoma projectors, a big 3d full hd one and this one. (just got it)
i can say it's the best Pocket projector ever. you can google and find out the ML550 model is rated number 1 for pocket projectors.
This model is all new december 2013, with 750 lumens britghtness, and contrast ratio 10000:1
you can connect your PC/ laptop and whatever you want and it gives you an awesome 100" screen size in a small room. it will amaze you!!!
i'd highly recommend this. here is the link on amazon

B&H has it cheaper - $576.99 shipped:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...a_led_dlp.html

Great specs - tiny, very bright, high contrast ratio. Only real negative I've seen in the reviews is that the fan can be a bit annoyng.

it shows as $599.00 on bhvideo here! Where did you see $576? at Amazon price is $596.06! and only 8 left in stock, i dont know.
about fan noises, it's not really noticable, unless your room and movie or whatever you're watching is way too quiet, after all its 700 lumens and it gets hot so it's normal, however it didn't bother me at all.
anyway, doesn't matter where you get it from, But you will love it. even texts are real sharp and well readble if you are going to conenct your laptop or pc.:)

btw if BHvideo has the same return policy and services of Amazon, then it's a good price. However i already have this Item. for about 620 for it's tripod and WIFI adapter, all 3 together from amazon.
good luck

Yup, add it to the cart. They can't advertise a non-cart price below the manufacturer's set advertising limit. The price will update once you click the "add to cart" button.

I have the Viewsonic PLED-W500, which is the 500-lumen equivalent to the Optoma ML500 (now the ML550, I believe), and it is fantastic. I absolutely love LED projectors. My only real complaint is that mine could be brighter, so having a 700-lumen model available at the same price I bought my 500-lumen model for is just great.

I recommend these to everyone who wants to setup an awesome little movie room. If the budget is tight, I usually suggest the 300-lumen Aaxa P300 for $399. The ML750 would probably be my recommendation for the $600 budget range since it's tiny and has a great amount of light output compared to other projectors on the market. They also have 800-lumen and 1000-lumen models available now. Although I'm interested to see how soon 1080p LED models will become widely available, I really like the 720p (ish) resolution that the current models offer because I can watch lower-resolution Youtube videos and older standard-definition TV shows and they still look fairly good upscaled. Once you go to 1080p, you're taking your stuff like your 720x480 resolution DVD movies and stretching them out to 1920x1080, which is a lot different than just bumping it up a bit to 1280x720 (or 1280x800, in the case of our projectors). Neither is bad, but watching older stuff on a 720p screen is a bit nicer if you're into Netflix & Youtube.

Thinking of using something like this eventually as the display for my desktop PC. Anyone else using a projector for a similar purpose?

Only catch is, you'd have to work in a dark room. Not sure about any long-term eyestrain effects.

Yes you can with this one, your room shouldnt be to dark this projector is really light with 700 lumens.
BTW the price is still @ 570 with free shipping on Amazon. Not sure how long it's gonna stay like that
