But still for a 65" DLP isn't the price still really good?

People in AVS rate this very highly if and only if it's the RD50A or RD50H versions. Emphasis on the A/H.

These are really good TV, They don't do 1080I natively but they can display 1080I image fine. I bought one of them this are the best TV's out there. Currently there are no TV outthere (DLP) which will do 1080I natively. Mits, sammy have announced for the product and they will be available by end of year. They won't be cheap atleast for 65 inch I am saying 4K.

"A" version Optoma is with newer chipset which is HD2+. Cheapest one you will find is Visual Apex for 1699, that is HOT.
Only diff between RD65H and RD65 is "H" version is HDCP complient. You can upgrade non "H" version to HDCP complient for 400 bucks. Both are HD2 chipset.
Also If you don't like to pay shipping charges go to FRY's (I know one in atlanta has it for 1699 and No shipping if you are picking up).
Bottom line is these are the best TV sets out there. If you are happy with 50 inch buy RD50A, you will not get any deal like this on from Sammy, toshiba, hitachi.... And this beats them all. Personal experience. Optoma is famous for projector they have just started in TV. Look avsforums for more info.

The will accept a 1080i input but will upconvert it to the native 720p(better). The new DLP chips will do a 1080p which is superior in native res but there are no 1080p signals besides a pc.

Why? At least 50% of the deals posted do not include shipping or tax. Are you going on mission to cite all of them? Better get crackin...its a big forum.
