I've been waiting for the right deal on a monitor for my parents. I think this is it. They don't have DVI anyways.

I wonder how this would do in gaming.
Newegg has some good reviews on this, but I just can't decide..

you have to pay tax on full amount or after instnt rebate amount and coupon amount? Also the coupon clearly states that it cannot be used with any other offer so i see a new total of about 180ish after rebate.....

and no dvi this deal is not very good

Monitor is crap, picked one up yesterday and have it packed up ready to return in a few minutes. Both my sister and I bought one, same story with both, so it's not just an isolated incident.

Everything looks washed out no matter what you do with the settings. It looks like somebody cranked the gamma setting, even though there isn't one.

Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

I paid:
204.98 (Base)
-24.60 (12% off)
+12.63 (7% Tax)
-35.00 (Rebate)
---------
$158.01

It is a gift for my parents, but I might hook it up tonight to be sure that I don't hate it as much as 911.

Just fired up the LCD and was very happy with it. I'll agree that it isn't top-of-the-line, but it more than suits my needs and I think it was a great value.

Also, by signing up for Staples Rewards (free), I will get 2% back (about $4).

As a monitor for my linux box I use a 17inch Optiquest and I notice the same thing. The brightness is just off, and no amount of adjusting brightness/contrast will fix it. It looks washed out. It also has a poor viewing angle. However, it's decent for a budget monitor.

Yes, for a budget monitor it's ok. Problem is I was using it as a second monitor and that made it even worse for me, having the colors soooo off.
