optiplex gxi 5200m, No USB controller?

Hi Guys,

Once again I'm in need of some help. I bought this dinosaur for my grandma. She needs to share the internet via wireless and I can't get the Netgear MA101 USB Wireless Adaptor to be detected and install.


Dell Optiplex gxi 5200m (233mhz)
Windows 2000 (I previously tried win me and had the same problem)

In the device manager there is no "Universal Serial Bus Controller"
After installation of Win 2k I checked the bios and it had USB "off" selected and is now "on"

I can't find any chipset drivers on dells website under the model number.

Intel's utility to detect the chipset fails.


Please let me know if any more information is needed and thanks for your help.
