Howdy,
I have a Dell Optiplex 990 Ultra Small Form Factor PC. It has a 2.5" HDD inside and a slimline DVD drive that I don't need. The power to the DVD drive is spliced from the power for the HDD and only uses two small cables (red/black). I want to add in a standard 3.5" HDD to get more storage on this machine but don't know two things
1) Can the 200W PSU handled another HDD? I don't know if i can tell how much power the system is pulling already or how much more another HDD would add
2) Can I get power to the 2nd HDD since there aren't any more ports on the PC.
See this pic for a shot of the various connectors. The red circle shows where the splice is that the DVD power branches off of. I don't see an actual model or part number on the MB itself.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
