Hi there. I just picked up the visiontek GF4 4400. i'm quite impressed by it after upgrading from my GF1 DDR ^_^ the visual quality alone (including the MUCH improved gamma, its actually NORMAL now!!!) is GREAT...

I do have one question though. I've looked around for some guides on the anti-aliasing but alas I can find none. I only fiddled w/ FSAA on the gf1 DDR once but suffice to say I know its a lot better now :) so what settings should I use?

here is a link to my system rig in case that helps somebody in deciding what settings I should use o_O

thanks guys! :D

Use 4xS in D3D (when possible), its the best mode, image quality wise. Also, to be included in OpenGL soon.

1024 768 32bit 4xS 32tap anisotropic should be smooth in most cases on GF4.

I use quincunx. 4x appearance w/ 2x performance hit.

I'll never understand how anyone can like Quincunx, I find it to be incredibly blurry.... though anisotropic filtering can off-set this at an added performance penalty. Granted it is quite effective at removing jaggies, almost as good as typical 4X FSAA in that respect but the blur filter applied at the final rendering just kills image quality IMHO.
Personally I MUCH prefer nVidia's 2X SSAA over Quincunx, only with anisotropic filtering applied do I consider Quincunx reasonable.
