Trying to consolidate multiple devices I have into one convenient unit. Ideally, I would like:

10-13" IPS screen with digitizer (prefer Wacom but would consider alternative)
Ivy Bridge or better CPU with at least HD4000
Windows OS capability, not necessarily out of the box
Removable battery with available replacements

I'd also consider a standard Windows netbook and a cheapo Android etc. tablet with a digitizer. Unfortunately outside of the $400 (on sale) to $500 Galaxy Note, which is ridiculously overpriced for an Android tablet, I don't know of any alternatives.

I don't see why a company can't make a "dumb" but quality 10" digitized screen as a companion unit to a desktop/laptop with HDMI in. Something with a low power single core A7 and 256mb RAM should be cheap to produce.

Anyways, back on topic, what are some options besides:
Dell Venue 11 (not Wacom, Synaptics?)
Lenovo Thinkpad x230t (hard to secure on sale at their outlet)
Sony Vaio Tap 11 (not Wacom, N-Trig)
Surface Pro ($400 battery replacement)

Even if they don't fit my desired configuration, just wanna at least know what's out there that I can look into and maybe find some sort of solution. Hopefully this becomes a growing market and doesn't get taken over by the cheap TN touchscreen shoved into every new laptop as a selling point that seems to be the mainstream trend right now among manufacturers.

Wacom's Cintiq Companion fits three of your four (but I am not sure if it does have a user serviceable battery).

Think of this as a larger Surface Pro 1, sans keyboard cover, with double pressure, pen tilt and pen rotate function and built in left buttons for shortcuts and such.

You are on a similar boat, if not the same, as I am.
You can consider lenovo thinkpad yoga. It will be a laptop first, but will be powerful. And expensive of course. But the digitizer is optional, so make sure you find the version with the digitizer.

On a bit more expensive side (above $1400) you have fujitsu lifebooks. The recently announced t734 is the most versatile of this category that I have seen with removable battery, upgradable ram, express card reader, 4g/LTE optional etc. But it is reasonable only if you want this to be your primary laptop/work machine. And an UNpleasent surprise; it's 1366/768.

For a higher resolution (really high) check out fujitsu t904 which by the way will make an even bigger hole in your pocket. Actually more like ripping your pocket of along with some of your butt skin.

I would recommend the lifebook more as it has some old additionals like vga, ethernet, optional optical drive, and is powered by m-series processors which are far better performers than the u series and come with hd 4600 instead of hd 4400 or 4200 (not sure about the real life performance difference). Still no 'iris' or 'iris pro'. But only if you need that much power.

But these are all heavy 13" devices. Since you wanted multiple devices in one, I think these are fitting your needs. Yes you will be paying the price, litterally.

But if you wanted a cheaper one like in 500-ish range, I am still searching.
Have you found something with the new intel atom (bay trail) processors? They should be reasonably priced with well enough power for everyday stuff.

Funny thing, I mailed Fujitsu enquiring about the Lifebook and they asked for my contact details. After I sent it they didn't contact me back. Probably thinking I couldn't afford it and was trolling. But I was really interested although I could not afford it. So guess they were not entirely wrong.

But I think this kind of devices should become more mainstream and affordable. All the best in your search. Please update the thread if you find something that suits your requirements.

Edit: Missed that '<' sign before 13". So just my opinions
There are lenovo thinkpad helix and twist. No removable batteries though. And again, EXPENSIVE with last gen (ivy bridge) cpus.
