After getting annoyed by Amber Alerts in the middle of a few kidnapping get-aways, I decided to opt out. Does it make me a terrible person that I don't care about somebody else's kid who I abducted?
I'm also annoyed that they are sharing my personal details with potentially millions of people (appearance, vehicle, etc). It makes it really hard to stop for gas or go to town for provisions without getting harrassed. I just want to get these little girls sealed behind a false wall in my basement with minimal food and water without all the drama.
It's not even worth having a dungeon or torture chamber these days.
