I need to buy a pair of headphones and they have to be closed. I recently tried my friends radio shack brand optimus 135s, and they sounded very nice, were very comftorable, and were quiet from the outside. however, I am hardly a headphone expert, and the only headphones I have really ever listened to are crappy ones, and my friends. so my question is, would a pair such as the sony MDR-V6, which seem very nice, or another closed headphone brand/type for under 100 bucks be significantly better than these? The optimus are 70 bucks, and the reason I am considering them is because I can buy them localy and I know what they are like.

I've read a ton of reviews and the Sony V6 is the most recommended closed headphones under a $100, they are $75 at djmart.com. I'd get the V6's over Radio Shiat headphones anyday.

I got one of the earlier RadioShack headphones before (Optimus Pro-60) for only $9.50. They were discontinued (probably made by Koss)but its one of the best sounding headphones I've ever had. They're rather big though but the bass is really awesome.

if you like the radio shack headphones, then get them. if you aren't going to be using a pair of headphones for anything more than just casually listening to music or playing games then there is no need to spend a lot of money.
