Optimum versus maximum refresh rate?

My 930B's manual states that the optimum resolution is 1280x1024@60 Hz, while the maximum is 1280x1024@75 Hz. Does this mean in the long run it would be better for my monitor to run at 60 Hz instead of 75? Honestly, unlike with a CRT, I can't tell much of a difference between the two refresh rates on this LCD. Still seems like the lower one might be a LITTLE harder on my eyes, though. Could just be my imagination.

I don't know. I've run mine at 75Hz since I got it (6 months) and have had no problems. Mine recommends 60Hz too I think.

It shouldn't make a difference, LCD's don't "refresh" in the same way CRT's do. The only benefit you'd get with 75Hz (as far as I'm aware) is that if your monitor's response time is low enough, you could possibly get 75 color changes per second (per pixel) instead of 60. 😛

always run LCDs at optimum resolution and refresh rate. Running out of spec degrades picture quality.
