Optimum memory amount for Win2k?

Nothing heavy duty stuff. Just Office 2000, browsing the web and playing games. Is 256mb enough? Are there any advantages by going above 256mb?

For just doing everyday stuff, 256M is more than enough. I have 256M and I do a lot of browsing, games, and development and I never even crack 200M of physical memory.

256mb is (from experience) just right. I had 128mb, upgraded to 256mb.. saw a huge performance boost both in games and when Win2k loads up. Then I got 512mb.. I can't tell a difference between 256mb and 512mb at all.. except when I have like millions of browsers up.
