Optimizing

I know i just recently posted that i just got my first build done. Unfortunantly though i haven't really optimized it yet. I ran 3dmark03 and got a score of only 7800 or so, but what kind of tweaks can i do, because i know that defaults under the bios aren't really geared towards gaming performance. Any help would be nice.

I don't know what to do. I know that a score of 7800 on 3dmark2003 is not fast for the kind of hardware this is, it should be north of 16k-17k+ stock.

As funny as it is, in reality though with this kind of video card that score is absolutly terrible. I should be well into the 5 digit range. And i just want to know what to do. I installed the mb drivers, i got the latest drivers for the video card. Windows is fully updated. The ram is not at specified timings, but i doubt that score would just be off the ram. And my cpu is stock 11x200. And i don't know how i'm about 9k-10k short of what i should be getting on 3dmark 03.

The fact that you can run benchmarks indicates you have a stable system - but the low benchmark results seem to indicate that your system may be set up with the lowest safe default BIOS settings.

First step would be to examine your BIOS settings - or, if you don't understand BIOS options, study up a bit.

Your BIOS safe default settings, for example, may have your CPU speed up as 11X100MHz=1100MHz. Similarly, your RAM might be set with safe defaults such as 133MHz memory clock speed with command rate 2T. These safe/low-performance default settings are intentional, since they stress no system elements and assure that your motherboard will easily boot up first time out of the box.

Hope this helps!

Sorry it took me awhile to reply, but so far i've downloaded the latest bfg drivers for the video card, updated windows, and i think i got all the motherboard drivers. I haven't done anything else because i don't know what else to do. Do i have to reformate if i want to setup a raid because i didn't set it up?. Do i have to update bios? I missing 9k-10k in benchmark points in 3dmark03, score: 7800 :(. I checked the bios and i already set the cpu speed to 11x200, and the ram seems fine, but it could be faster. But i highly doubt the scores are due to the ram. I'm talkin about 10000 points missing in 3dmark 03.

Oh yeah what is thermal throttling, i checked the bios and it was set at 50%.

Thanks for your imput guys i really do appreciate it.

Download the latest chipset drivers. Worked for me when I had a similar problem.

And another thing, i went to dfi's website to look up drivers, but i have no idea which ones to pick. I picked my motherboard on the website and searched for updates and i'm clueless when it comes to this stuff.

can anyone just send my links to drivers because i have no idea what to look for. For some reason my score went down to 6700 on 3dmark03. I obviously have a serious optimization problem. I went into the bios and it is way confusing, I don't know what anything means. Is there anything i can do. If push comes to shove could i just right down all the settings in the bios and post them on here?

This issue is making very upset, i spend money and i can't even get good benchmarks. I need to get this issue fixed. I did the drivers and stuff and it didn't help, but made it worse. Like i said if you can just send me links to the right drivers

one quick way would be to set the bios for "optimized" or "performance" settings, there should be a option on the very first page, usually on the right hand side above where it says to save and exit....also, relax we will get this fixed.

I couldn't find no such setting. I don't know what to do, but i'm getting to the point where i'm just going to take it in somewhere because its really bothering me.
