Maybe I missed the boat on this one... but I think there's a new version available...
on a computer that I built and loaded the modified aps on a month ago would give me a message stating:
"setiathom_enhanced 5.28 is running"... blah.. blah.. or some such.. this was on my main rig core i7 920
i loaded seti 6.4.5 over the 6.2.19 version

now... just last night i built a q9300 from intel retailedge and loaded the modified aps and I get the message
"setiathome_enhanced 6.03 is running" ... etc...etc..
with was with version 6.4.5

i went back and reinstalled the modified aps from the lunatics.kwsn.net website on the i7 machine and it's downloading the 6.03 versions now

ok.. third machine.. which is my budget i7 machine (i confuse myself everytime I say "budget" and "i7" in the same sentence )
I didn't load the modified aps but I loaded seti 6.4.5 on it and it's stating that it's running the "setiathome_enhanced 6.03"

so... with this information... do we even need to load the modified aps for seti version 6.4.5?

Lol, yea i7 isn't really a budget rig ;), if you bring up the task manager what SETI exes are running?

With the optimisd ones you get something like AKv8.

well... i let my "budget i7" run for awhile with out the optimized aps... it has a 9400gt in it also.

well... it ran fine for a little while but it wasn't what I was hoping for... basically half my WU's under CUDA had cumputational errors...

so this evening i loaded the optimized aps... which currently don't have CUDA support.

i just need better video drivers... i was running the lastest released driver from nVidia. I'll mess with cuda again on the this machine with the next released cuda driver
