Just finished installing digital cables last week on my block, he was pushing really hard saying it will be T1 speed, 3 month $19.99 than $45 I will stick with Verizon DSL for now

I have no doubt Cable is faster than DSL, but their price and company is not reliable. Road Runner was available in my area I would get it

you're dumb! If it was me I would have taken optimum online! My god! I wish they were here to give comcast a run for their money

The company is reliable. How much do you pay for DSL anyways? OOL is 10mbit down and 1mbit up.

I don't blame you for switching to Optimum Online. Cablevision is infamous for "bait and switch" pricing for their cable prices, and raising prices on whim.

Hell, OOL started out at $29.95 (with a premium cable subscription) less than two years ago, and now it's $44.95 after the 3 month trial is over. At this rate, OOL will cost $70 a month within a few years, just like their obscene digital cable prices.

Meanwhile, my Earthlink DSL has been $49.95 for years. It also comes with nationwide dialup access and 10 MB of web hosting space, something that OOL doesn't offer.

OOL rocks. With the right cable modem (Motorola SB4100 or later with the up to date firmware from the dslreports.com OOL forums) properly tweaked system, you should EASILY be able to pull in ~8-9MB per sec

I've also heard OOL is fast but dont they cap bandwidth in some areas?

They were capping uploads a while ago on people who were doing a lot of it. Mostly kazaa sharers and stuff like that. I havent looked into what they have capped or not capped lately because it hasn't affected me. 😀

Huh?

Put some periods in your sentence...

Optimum Online is awesome, BTW. Verizon sucks! I'd choose OptOnline any day over any DSL provider.

Optimum Online is the Sh!t. I pay $35/month for it in northeast NJ. It's been down on me for about 3 hours over the course of about 1.5 years. I'd say that is reliable!

I'll post a speed test in a few minutes

T1 speed for $45/month?

No more drugs for that man....

I wish I had good online choices. I'm on Bellsouth now dsl but this week have to switch to charter pipeline (cable) when we move. 768/128 for $45/month. I can pay 55 month for 1.5/128 but I'll see how the pissass 768 works for me first.

I just wanted to say I would die to have a 10/1 connection. If you don't get this you are a fvcking moron. Wait a minute...

T1 = 1.544 Mbps in both directions.
OOL = 10 Mbps/1Mbps

so pretty damn close.

but when you pay a T1 price you get guaranteed uptime. Cable companies do not have any uptime guarantee

OOL has declined since they are rebuilding lines for digital cable. but they remain the best cable internet service in the country. the only problem is that they offer no web space =(
