Optimal Ram Timings @_@

Okee doke, i got a 256mb stick of corsair xms pc2700 c2.0 ram in the mail today (Thanks RickD! 🙂) and i set the cpu and mem bus at 166 for now, ill overclock more later. my question is, what do you think are good ram timings for my system? would 2-2-2-5 be ok at 166 bus? Im a n00b to ram timings so i thought id ask you guys! 🙂 my rig is:

Epox 8rda+
Athlon T-bred 1700+ B @ 2600+
256mb corsair xms pc2700 c2.0
pny geforce 4 ti 4400
300w psu

thanks!

Bro, -2-2-2-5 are THE optimal timings. Also, dont overclock your MEMORy bus - the CPU bus and memory bus MUST run at the same speed. If they are asynchronous (i.e have different speeds (CPU - 133, mem 166)) then your system will actually be slower. Your CPU bus is 133, and your memory should be 133. If you wanna run at 166, then make your CPU bus 166 as well. Just make sure not to fry it.

well currently my mem and cpu are in sync at 166 bus, so im just waiting for some more people to give their insights into my question and then ill change the timiings. Anyone else got some thoughts? 🙂

if it can handle 2-2-2-5, and you're running insync (BYE BYE BYE)... sorry...

🙂

then yes, run it at 2-2-2-5 and you'll be good to go!

What he said.

Run nsync....just don't play it.
