Optimal page files settings in xp w/ 1gig ram

What size, if any, should my page file be set to in Windows XP professional to get optimal performance with most programs?

also, I've got

p4 2.26 ghz @ 2.84 ghz
240 gigs hd space

my windows chose 672MB for my pagefile with 448MB of RAM. I think with Windows it should be around 1.5-2 times the amount of RAM, but I heard with Linux it should be about half. can someone clear that up? with 1gig of RAM though, i don't think you will be using too much of the pagefile or am i wrong?

You have 240G of disk space, why even pay attention to what it is? I'd probably set it to ~1G and forget about it.
