Guys,

Wondering what your thoughts are on the optimal DVD Setup for the PC... I'm talking decoder card, DVD-ROM, etc.. Price isn't an issue btw...

Thanks,

Rob :)

ATI graphics cards are VERY hard to beat for the money, IMHO.
The Radeon 8500 DV series is an EXCELLENT card for video tasks in general.

I like my 16x Pioneer slot-load DVD-ROM, but any decent speed DVD-ROM will do.

With the power of the modern PC, you don't really need a decoder card. ATi's lines of VGA cards do the job nicely, comes with great picutre quality, too. If you really want a decoder card, check out RealMagic.

Thanks guys. I'm buying an 8500DV this weekend, and have a 1.266 Athlon with 512MG of PC2100 Crucial RAM. Should be sufficient to play DVD's, thanks!
