Optical Out

I have a Hercules Fortissimo III, and it has a optical out.

I recently got a optical cable to hook it up to my reciever, but cant figure out how to enable the optical out.

Heres the application that came with the card.

I checked off Digital Audio Source, and rebooted, but the sound still comes from my analog speakers and nothing goes to the receiver.

Is there something im not doing right?

I have that card and if memory serves me, you have to have a green checkmark in "Main Ouputs" only to enable the optical out to work. That is how mine is set up.

Are you getting the red light at the end of your optical cable?

What drivers you using?

i tried that earlier and it didnt work, but thats because my reciever wasnt set up right. silly me.
