NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER look into the end of fiber optic cables or transmitters. I have a scar on my retina from doing so and a permanent spot in my vision. The only reason I'm suggesting it here is the wavelength and the use of a LED in TOSLINK makes it OK.

Heh, that's why it was a dumb question. I figured you already did all that. Or it could be something as dumb as when you moved - your TV lost it's settings (long loss of power) and you may have to redo them.
