Optical Mouse Question?

Hello,

My Logitech Optical Mouse Runs On A USB Connection.
In Device Manager, for USB Hub, I have 'allow this device to be shutdown to save power' enabled...

My question, At night, when sleeping, my mouse sometimes delays my sleep, because of its red glow, even when the mouse power saves (dims) So how can I make it turn off completely without shutting down, or standbying etc the pc?

Can you just, Turn it off somehow?

I dont think you can turn it off, but you can always unplug it

yeah, its usb. its designed to be plugged and unplugged

but, i know one way to turn the light off. it involves a phillips screwdriver, tho. dont break the bulb, tho. that could mess somethin up. just paint it ot put tap over it. and i do mean the light thats in the back (just for show), DEFINITELY not the one that's used to read the surface below the mouse.

i always just turned my mouse around so the light faced a wall or somthing.

I might just buy one of those 5 1/4 bay usb brackets someday

Mice don't exactly overheat; you'd probably do fine to lay the mousepad, or something similar on top of the mouse overnight. Would serve as a dust cover too.

Good old Anandtechers. We'd probably construct a $200 computer-controlled device to turn off the mouse before doing the simple thing. Aah, gotta love it here. 😀
