optical mouse problem

hi i bought an ultra cheap namesless brand optical mouse, which claims to have 800 dpi resolution. the problem is that it doesnt even feel like its got 800 dpi resolution (how high is 800 dpi resolution? is that old, present, or futuristic). some of the symptoms are that the mopuse feels more like a trash ball mouse. even thoughi move it and the red optical light or whatever brightens upon movement, on the screen, the cursor gets stuck at a position and struggles to move on kind of likea stuck ball mouse. also the movement is coarse. the mouse came with no software or drivers. just a usb/ps2 plugin one. Is this a problem with the mose or is this a probnlm with the software for mouse? Another cheap ball mouse workls just fine, infact, it moves like a high end optical mouse. someone help me please.

don't expect much from a nameless optical mouse
I suggest replace with a logitech optical mouse and a good mouse pad which cater for optical mousee
