Does anyone have a MS Optical Mouse Blue? It has two buttons and a wheel (that scrolls very easily). It's optical, plugs in through either PS2 or USB, and the wheel scrolls very easily.

I'm not sure which non-blue MS mouse is the same as this one, because this one is not listed under Intellipoint 4.1. Some of the mouses listed in the software are: Intellimouse, Intellimouse Explorer, Intellimouse explorer 3, Intellimouse optical, Wheel mouse optical, Optical Mouse, etc.

I checked with MS and this is also the newest version of Intellipoint. I heard that installing intellipoint moves your ps2 mouse from 60 to 200 refresh.

are you sure you didn't just see some web page where a guy 'modded' his mouse, by switching the LED inside it ? :p

There's an Optical Mouse Blue, but it sure doesn't have a blue LED. Just the top and I think the scroll wheel are blue. There's also a wireless one which has a silver top and blue around and on the wheel, I think. The Intellimouse softwear should work with it anyway, even if this mouse is not listed.

EDIT: Either that, or there's no updated softwear for the Optical Mouse Blue and the only softwear is available on the installation CD or perhaps windowsupdate?

You don't need the intellipoint software to boost the sample rate. Just change it within the mouse hardware settings (in XP/2000). If you're using an older OS, you can use a smaller program called PS2Rate.
