Optical Drives for new PC

Hey guys I need to get 2 drives for the system Ill be building soon.

Drive 1: Everyone has good things to say about NEC 3550 which will porbably end up being one of them. But is this drive just good from a price performance point of view or is it just one the best period. Otherwise, are there other drives I should look at that maybe better? If theyre more expensive thats okay.

Drive 2: Undecided. I need something that can read anything. Back home theres alot of generics on the market and alot arent very good quality. I read somewhere that Lite-On is a god option in this case but its noisy. Are there any other better options? Also, should I go with a 2nd DVD drive or just the fastest CDRW I can find?

Thanks guys

1 - Either the LG H10, Benq 1650, Pioneer 111 or the NEC 3550 are good enough. Id vote for the lg or pioneer..
2 - Get a lite-on dvdrom for all your reading/scanning needs.

For the 2nd drive I was thinking about putting in the fastest CDRW I can find that can also read anything I throw in it.

Still Lite-On im guessing?

I don't see the logic in using 2 drives, unless you were ripping like a madman. The 3550 is able to read nearly anything, except for HD-DVD, Bluray, SACD, and console type discs are iffy. When I'm (legally) duplicating a disc, I just rip the image, and burn the image 2 minutes later. Disc-to-disc burning is SO 1998.
