Trying to find a mod kit for a CD ROM/RW/DVD etc. I can find a color to match the outside of my case, but I am looking some way to change the inside view. I have an aluminum case and do not want a grey metal CD ROM

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

That metal casing around your drive is there for a reason. To protect the drive and other sensative components from EMI. It also serves to keep out dust and foreign debris. Ever considered just painting it or covering it in something?

Although that is a pretty cool mod, notice the end of his review.

The outside dimensions are a good 1/8" larger than with the standard metal. Obviously this is due to the fact that the plexi is thicker than the metal. Honestly, I didn't try to fit this in a drive bay and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit. You would need to custom mount something like this your computer case... what you get is one step further mod than your standard drive window. My conclusion is that it is a fun mod and if you had a custom case. you could have some nice aspects but for a standard case, you would probably be better off just windowing the standard casing. Next thing to do is give this babeh a custom paint job to use the ugly bits inside somehow to my advantage. I didn't bother going through with the bezel because that is an entirely different mod. You could just do a custom paint job on the front or fabricate your own plexi bezel.

So unless you are making a custom case, this may not work...

I say paint the thing. :)
