Opterons?

whats the difference between different Opterons? 240, 242, 244, 264?

240 = 1.4GHz dual capable
242 = 1.6GHz dual capable
244 = 1.8GHz dual capable
246 = 2.0GHz dual capable

Opteron numbering system basically goes like this....

1st digit is for how many cpus MAX can be used together, ie 1,2,8 therefore if you want a quad opteron you need 800 series.

the second two digits represent performance. as you can see from my previous post the higher the number, the higher the clockspeed/performance. They are arbitrary and are merely referencing other opteron cpus.
