Opterons and Motherboards?

After reading on this forum I'm considering getting an Opteron for my system due to the increased level 2 cache and nice price. I was wondering however if I go this route if there is anything special I should look for when buying a motherboard to ensure opteron compatibility or will any 939 socket motherboard work. Also if anyone has recommendations on a good motherboard itd be appreciated.

I'm personally going to get the 165 or 170 with the ASrock dual so I can keep my agp card until i can afford to upgrade to pci-express
