Opteron vs. the Athlon FX-62

Could someone please tell me what the difference is between these two chips. Other than that one is meant for Gaming and the other Workstations/Servers... I took a look at the CPU's Cores and they look alike in just about every way... Hell even the CPU designs look the same to me on paper.... Some one please let me know...

Generally the FX differs only by having unlocked multipliers. It also fits in different sockets (granted, there are some s939 Opterons and apparently even some AM2 Opterons). The S940 and Socket F Opterons required registered DIMMs as well.

Okay thank you for clearing that up for me... I knew that something was different about the two. I was wondering why AMD would offer two CPU's that are the same in every way, under two different Names and ask almost TWICE the Price for the one.
