Opteron vs Itanium, well maybe not, how about Xeon?

They should have aimed at the workstation market from the get go. They should be trying to compete with the Xeon. The Opteron is more than a competent chip, its not a slouch if they solve all their yeild issues, it will be neck and neck with the Xeon, as each jack up speeds. Sales for the opteron wont pick up until MS gets WinXP Pro 64bit Edition to the market place. Soon as that hits all of the 64-bit professional apps(DCC, CAD, Audio, etc) will hit shortly there after, with in the first half of 2004.
