Which one is better, stock heat pipe cooler that comes with Opteron 165, or Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro?

Change the fan for a bigger one on the stock and it will be fine - I use the stock and bigger fan for my Opty 148 and temps do not go over 50C at full load. This is on my A8R32-MVP
I do use the Arctic Freezer pro on my opty 165 and temps are excellent (333 X 9 on DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D)
Just noticed you have the A8N-E - which is on my 5th system with a 3200+ (320X 9 using Thermaltake K450 fan very similay to the opty 165 stock)

Depends of what AMD Heatpipe cooler they included. There are 2 one has a 70mm clip on fan, the other has an 80mm screw in Delta fan that can be much more easily replaced.

I had the latter and replaced the Delta 80mm fan with an 80-120mm adapter and a 120mm fan and it works great, not only does it blow a ton of air through the heatpipes but it also blows right onto the CPU base and the surrounding areas of the MB, cools the capacitors around the CPU nicely, which the Freezer Pro is not designed to do.

The Freezer 64 outcools the stock heatpipe heatsink, but not by alot. I'd recommend using the stock heatsink, and seeing what your temps are, then deciding whether it's worth it to you to replace it. I can tell you that the stock heatsink is about 5 or 6 times as loud, if that makes a difference to you.

Well I already have the Freezer 64 Pro, and I'm considering getting a Opteron 165, so I could use either cooler. Based on what you said, I should probably just stick with Freezer 64 Pro then.
