Opteron Question

So, i browsed the first page of your forums, and didnt find my answer...I was told opterons only used registered memory, but i have 2gbs of corsair laying around, anything replied to me other than something containing n3wb , n00b, or just plain newb would be appreciated...Thanks...

940's can use ECC RAM and can run in multiple CPU systems.

939's use cheaper parts, so if it's only a single cpu, it's better.
