Opteron Price Drops?

i heard that opeteron chips are going to drop in price in may.....

anybody else here that? and body know how much of a drop to expect?

im trying to decide whether to buy 2x 242's now, or buy 1x 244 or 246 now and the other at the end of may....

but that all depends on what the price is likely to do.

does AMD have any kind of pattern in their history of CPU price cuts? anything that might give me even a clue?
 
Unfortunately AMD is much more secretive when it comes to price cuts. Intel will even put the exact date up on their website and registered resellers can get the exact prices well in advance. AMD does not do any such thing.

I would expect a 25% cut, but that is just a rough estimate. I haven't seen any price rumors yet.
