i don't remember the exact model number, but i know the Phenom's
have a model at 2.2 GHz that has a 512K cache for each of the
CPU core's.

i compare that to the Opteron, which i have one of, and is 2 cores
with 1 MB cache, at 2.2 GHz.

is the Phenom approximately a dual 175 in performance ? i'm
pretty familiar with the 175, i like it. 2 of them would be, even
better.

opty 175 is on skt 939, phenom is on am2+ just fyi.

phenom is a little bit faster clock for clock than x2/opty1xx, I think something in the neighborhood of 10% now that the tlb bug is fixed. make sure to get a phenom 9x5x onstead of 9x0x, however, because the 9x0x is the older design that still had the tlb bug. The fix for said bug slowed down the computers significantly.

it would be an ok cpu, but q6600 for the same price would be a much better investment.
