Seems a little high to me for a 2.0GHz/1MB A64 chip. however that stepping does OC pretty well, probably why the price premium is there. I'd save a touch more and get a Dual core chip.

For only $20 more you can get an Opteron 165 or X2 3800+

Yeah that's a bit steep, I paid $200 for the same stepping and got ripped, but the thing does 2.9 at stock volts so I'm not complaining too much... ;)

I wouldnt call $200 ripped heh. People on ebay easily pay $250-$270 for a good 146.

I just TODAY sold a retail boxed 144 for $220 on ebay. :p If you think about it, pretty much no matter what you pay, its a good price if youre chip does 2.8-3ghz. Thats a FX chip for a fraction of the price. And they are in incredible demand as well, so thats part of the reason.

Here's my 146 CABYE 0540 FPMW: http://members.cox.net/mucker/GSkill/FPMW3G1.jpg

Worth it to me, better than stock FX-57 at 1/4 the cost. Voltage and load temperature well within my limits.

The 165 for a few dollars more is probably a wiser investment though. I would have went that route had the availabilty been better at the time I was looking at things....

I don't think that is too much. I'm still not a fan of the DC theory yet so I see this as saving lots over a FX 55/57 chip.

I'd pay it...
